The community of Squamish is nestled at the head of Howe Sound, a UNESCO world heritage site and conveniently located only 64km north from the urban metropolis of Vancouver. Located just off Sea to Sky highway 99, PMA students have easy access to world class facilities of Whistler Olympic Park (Nordic skiing, ski jumping, biathlon) and Whistler Blackcomb. Squamish is famous and well known as the ‘outdoor recreation capital of Canada’ and offers world renowned rock climbing, mountain biking, ocean sailing, hiking and backcountry skiing.

With a population of approximately 24,000 residents and a median age of only 37.6, Squamish’s resident population is composed of professionals, entrepreneurs, students and those enjoying the relatively mild climate and access to the outdoors for their retirement. Squamish attracts those who value a safe and small community atmosphere offering high quality education, incredible lifestyle and immediate access to both urban and wilderness environments.

PMA STUDENT DEMOGRAPHIC

Although composed of dynamic international cohorts, 73% of PMA students are native English language speakers and are either currently performing academically within the 90% percentile, or are supported by PMA to do so.

PUBLIC TRANSIT

Squamish is serviced by BC Public Transit, with regular scheduling from PMA campus to the quaint downtown core, Brennan Park Recreation Centre, Squamish Visitors Centre and Tantalus shopping mall. Return bus service is available between Squamish and Vancouver and | or Whistler.

ACCESSIBILITY

40 minutes to Whistler, 1 hour to Vancouver. 1.5 hours to YVR international airport.
